أثار إعلان النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو اعتزال اللعب الدولي تفاعلاً واسعاً داخل الأوساط الرياضية، فيما لفتت شريكته جورجينا رودريغيز الأنظار برد فعل عاطفي عقب القرار الذي أسدل الستار على مسيرة استثنائية امتدت أكثر من 23 عاماً مع منتخب البرتغال.
وأعلن قائد النصر السعودي، الخميس، عزمه إنهاء مشواره مع المنتخب البرتغالي عقب فترة التوقف الدولي في نوفمبر، مؤكداً عبر رسالة مصورة نشرها على حساباته الرسمية أن الوقت حان لتسليم (القميص رقم 7) إلى الجيل المقبل، بعد سنوات طويلة من الإنجازات والأرقام القياسية.
