صعّد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب لهجته تجاه إيران، مؤكداً أن الولايات المتحدة ستوجه ضربة قوية إلى جبل الفاس إذا مارست طهران أنشطة نووية فيه، ومعلناً أن بلاده «انتصرت» في الحرب ضد إيران.
وفي كلمة ألقاها خلال المؤتمر الجمهوري للانتخابات النصفية في دالاس، دعا ترمب الناخبين إلى دعم الجمهوريين في الانتخابات المقبلة، محذراً من أن خسارة الحزب للانتخابات النصفية ستؤدي، بحسب قوله، إلى فقدان الإنجازات التي تحققت خلال العامين الماضيين.
وأكد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة شهدت خلال العامين الماضيين «أنجح فترة رئاسية في تاريخها»، مشدداً على ضرورة فوز الجمهوريين في الانتخابات النصفية المقبلة للحفاظ على هذه الإنجازات واستكمال أجندته.
كما واصل ترمب هجومه على الديمقراطيين، واصفاً إياهم بـ«اليسار المتطرف»، ومحذراً من أن سيطرتهم على الكونجرس قد تعيد البلاد إلى الوراء لسنوات.
وفي ملف الهجرة، قال ترمب إن أي مهاجر غير شرعي لم يتمكن من دخول الولايات المتحدة خلال الأشهر الـ15 الماضية، في تأكيد على ما يعتبره نجاحاً لسياسته المتشددة بشأن أمن الحدود.
وكان ترمب قد تعهد بمنح كل ناخب أمريكي 5 آلاف دولار حال فوز الجمهوريين بالسيطرة على مجلسي النواب والشيوخ.

In a speech delivered during the Republican conference for the midterm elections in Dallas, Trump urged voters to support Republicans in the upcoming elections, warning that a loss for the party in the midterms would, according to him, lead to the loss of the achievements made over the past two years.
Trump emphasized that the United States has experienced "the most successful presidential period in its history" over the past two years, stressing the necessity for Republicans to win the upcoming midterm elections to maintain these achievements and continue his agenda.
He also continued his attack on the Democrats, describing them as "the radical left," and warning that their control of Congress could set the country back for years.
On the immigration front, Trump stated that any illegal immigrant who has not been able to enter the United States in the past 15 months is a testament to what he considers a success of his tough border security policy.
Trump had pledged to give every American voter $5,000 if the Republicans win control of both the House and the Senate.
