صدر حديثاً كتاب «أنفذ من ضوء: الشخصية السعودية والصينية عبر أمثالها»، للدكتور عبدالله البريدي، عبر مكتبة سماوي.

ويتناول الكتاب «المثل» باعتباره نافذة لفهم الإنسان والثقافة والمجتمع، عبر ثلاثة مستويات متداخلة: الإنساني الكلي، والقومي المقارن بين العربي والصيني، والوطني المقارن بين السعودي والصيني. ويدرس بنية المثل وكيف يتشكل ولماذا يشيع ويؤثر، وما الوظائف التي يلعبها، ويصف المثل بأنه «موسيقى لنبض كوني».

ويقدم البريدي عمله وفق مفهوم «النص النُزهة»، أي النص الذي لا يُقرأ فقط، وإنما يُتنزه فيه وبه، من خلال القراءة والتفاعل والتفسير والتثمير، بحسب المؤلف.

ويسعى الكتاب إلى تلمس ملامح الشخصية السعودية والصينية عبر أمثالهما، مع إبراز الأطر الإيجابية الجامعة، بما يعزز الفهم الثقافي المتبادل في ظل العلاقات المتنامية بين البلدين على مختلف الأصعدة.

ويطرح الكتاب أسئلة محورية حول وظيفة المثل وحضوره في الحياة الحديثة وعوامل ضموره، من بينها: هل يستطيع المعاصرون تخليق أمثال جديدة؟

وكان البريدي قد فاز بجائزة الأدب ضمن الجوائز الثقافية الوطنية في دورتها الخامسة، التي تنظمها وزارة الثقافة، إذ خصصت الجائزة للتأليف الفلسفي، تقديراً لمؤلفاته الفلسفية التأسيسية وإسهاماته في المشهد الثقافي السعودي.

The book "More Effective than Light: Saudi and Chinese Character through Their Proverbs" by Dr. Abdullah Al-Buraidi has recently been published through Samawi Library.

The book addresses "proverbs" as a window to understanding humanity, culture, and society, through three interrelated levels: the universal human, the comparative national between Arab and Chinese, and the comparative national between Saudi and Chinese. It studies the structure of proverbs, how they are formed, why they spread and influence, and the functions they play, describing proverbs as "the music of a cosmic pulse."

Al-Buraidi presents his work according to the concept of "the text as a promenade," meaning a text that is not only read but also wandered through and with, through reading, interaction, interpretation, and enrichment, according to the author.

The book seeks to explore the features of Saudi and Chinese character through their proverbs, highlighting the positive common frameworks that enhance mutual cultural understanding in light of the growing relations between the two countries on various levels.

The book raises pivotal questions about the function of proverbs and their presence in modern life, as well as factors contributing to their decline, including: Can contemporaries create new proverbs?

Al-Buraidi had won the Literature Award as part of the National Cultural Awards in its fifth edition, organized by the Ministry of Culture, as the award was dedicated to philosophical writing, in recognition of his foundational philosophical works and contributions to the Saudi cultural scene.
