أجلت السلطات الصينية أكثر من 31 ألف شخص في مقاطعة هاينان جنوبي البلاد، إثر هطول أمطار غزيرة ومتواصلة على أجزاء واسعة من المقاطعة.
وذكرت السلطات المحلية أنه حتى مساء أمس (الأحد)، جرى نقل 31,564 شخصاً إلى مناطق آمنة، فيما لم تسجل حتى ذلك الوقت كوارث كبيرة ناجمة عن الأمطار.
وتجاوزت كميات الأمطار خلال الأيام الثلاثة الماضية 300 ملم في 24 بلدة موزعة على ست مدن ومقاطعات، فيما سجلت بلدة تشانغفنغ في مدينة وانينغ أعلى كمية تراكمية للأمطار بلغت 452.1 ملم.
ورفعت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية في هاينان مستوى التحذير من الأمطار الغزيرة إلى المستوى الثاني، كما رفعت السلطات مستوى الاستجابة الطارئة لمواجهة الفيضانات والرياح، بالتزامن مع استمرار الأحوال الجوية الماطرة.
وأدت الأمطار إلى تعليق الدراسة في عدد من المناطق وإغلاق بعض المواقع السياحية وفرض قيود على حركة المرور في طرق متضررة، فيما تمركزت فرق الإطفاء والإنقاذ في المناطق الأكثر عرضة للمخاطر، مع إرسال أفراد ومعدات إضافية لتصريف المياه.
وأرجعت هيئة الأرصاد استمرار الأمطار الغزيرة إلى التأثير المشترك لمنخفض مداري في بحر الصين الجنوبي وكتلة هوائية باردة، محذرة من مخاطر السيول وتجمع المياه والانهيارات الأرضية وغيرها من الأخطار الناجمة عن استمرار هطول الأمطار.
The Chinese authorities have evacuated more than 31,000 people in Hainan Province in the south of the country, following heavy and continuous rainfall over large areas of the province.
Local authorities reported that by last night (Sunday), 31,564 people had been moved to safe areas, while no major disasters resulting from the rain had been recorded up to that time.
Rainfall amounts over the past three days exceeded 300 mm in 24 towns distributed across six cities and provinces, with the town of Changfeng in Wanning City recording the highest cumulative rainfall of 452.1 mm.
The Hainan Meteorological Administration raised the heavy rain warning to level two, and authorities increased the emergency response level to address flooding and winds, coinciding with the ongoing rainy weather.
The rain has led to the suspension of classes in several areas, the closure of some tourist sites, and traffic restrictions on affected roads, while firefighting and rescue teams have been stationed in the most at-risk areas, with additional personnel and equipment sent for water drainage.
The meteorological agency attributed the continued heavy rain to the combined effects of a tropical depression in the South China Sea and a cold air mass, warning of the risks of flash floods, water accumulation, landslides, and other dangers resulting from the ongoing rainfall.
